The status quo isn't working
It's no secret, and we see it time and time again in our work: institutions everywhere are struggling to fulfill their stated purpose, attract new supporters, and engage their bases.
Churches, government agencies, non-profit organizations—you name it. All have seen their fair share of scandal, burnout, and stagnation.
Two culprits are often at play: rigidity and isolation.
The old way of structuring institutions hierarchically is no longer sustainable. Top-down approaches to power and decision-making have resulted in the alienation, disenfranchisement, and outright harm of countless people—even the decision-makers themselves.
But, luckily, there's a better way to operate.
A new paradigm
As an affiliate of the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF), ACTION builds upon decades of proven organizing knowledge and experience to help our member institutions develop internal cultures that are more democratic, relational, and collaborative.
We do that by investing in their people and helping them practice a different way of thinking about power.
While many institutions were built on a zero-sum, unilateral idea of power, we believe that building relational power is the key to dynamic creativity, transformative influence, and collective abundance.
We are stronger together
Becoming a dues-paying member of ACTION isn't just a commitment to our broad-based organization; more importantly, it represents a commitment to building the power and resilience of your own institution.
When you join ACTION, your success becomes our success.
Your institution's needs and interests become our needs and interests—and there is political strength in solidarity.
