Our Organizers

Shailagh Lannon Cains
Associate Organizer

Shailagh Lannon Cains is a Minnesota native who moved to Tulsa in 2018 to teach early childhood education. She first got involved with ACTION in 2022 through her church, Fellowship Congregational United Church of Christ. As an institutional leader, Shailagh experienced the power of house meetings for the first time, learned how to meet with elected officials, and got to co-chair a Mayoral Accountability Session in the summer of 2024. The more she learned about organizing the more she wanted to get involved and, after attending an IAF National Training, Shailagh decided to transition out of the classroom to pursue a career as an organizer. While she is no longer in the classroom, her passion for organizing stays rooted in the hundreds of relationships she built with the students, parents, and school communities where she served. Shailagh graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Gustavus Adolphus College.

Kelli Driscoll Crews
Clergy Organizer

Rev. Kelli Driscoll Crews spent twenty years in congregational ministry, serving Disciples of Christ and United Methodist churches in Texas, Missouri, and Oklahoma. Through that work, she discovered broad-based organizing. As a leader with ACTION, Kelli collaborated with other ACTION leaders, subject experts, and state legislators to establish the Oklahoma Student Loan Borrower Bill of Rights, extending the same kind of consumer protections found in mortgage and auto lending to student loans. She knows we can address the real problems affecting our lives when ordinary people become non-partisan civic leaders. Kelli holds a B.A. in Religion from Texas Christian University and a Master of Divinity from Brite Divinity School at TCU. Kelli grew up in Louisiana but Oklahoma is home. She lives in Tulsa with her husband, daughter, dogs, cat and hens.
