ACTION appreciates Governor Stitt's public call for accountability, thoughtful leadership, and a reset of immigration enforcement strategy in the wake of the volatile situation in Minneapolis and tragic shootings of two citizens. Add your name to the list of Tulsans thanking him for his leadership on this matter and asking him to protect our immigrant neighbors.
The letter reads:
Dear Governor Stitt,
As ACTION, we want to recognize your public call for accountability, thoughtful leadership, and a reset of immigration enforcement strategy in response to the volatile situation in Minneapolis and tragic shootings of two American citizens. We do not want the chaos happening in Minneapolis to migrate to Oklahoma as we know it would be harmful to families and businesses. We appreciate your leadership on this issue and urge you to continue to advocate for changes to federal immigration enforcement.
As constituents who care deeply for our neighbors, we appreciate your understanding that Oklahomans do not want to see all non-citizens deported. Immigrants are part of the fabric of our neighborhoods and play an important role in the industries that keep Oklahoma’s economy growing. We believe it is possible to uphold the rule of law and deport violent criminals while honoring Oklahoma’s commitment to strong families and the dignity of every person.
We are grateful you are willing to stand up for clarity, safety, and accountability in federal operations and ask that you continue to use your power to protect our families, both immigrant and native-born, in Oklahoma.
Thank you for your leadership on this matter.
Sincerely,
