2023 Delegates Assembly

Something unexpected happened at our 2023 Delegates Assembly...

This almost never happens with ACTION events: even more people showed up to our Delegates' Assembly than RSVP'd!

Our hearts were moved by the presence of Tulsans who are hungry to connect, learn, and work together to address a number of crises facing our community.

Here were the outcomes:

In total, 150 diverse people from 17 institutions gathered to hear personal stories and learn about key issues impacting our families.

The overarching issues we've identified are:

  • Public Education

  • Mental Health

  • Economic Opportunity

  • Housing

  • Local Infrastructure

  • Community Safety

After ratifying our issues agenda for this year, member institutions collectively pledged $20,000 toward building relational power to take action together.

Then, we learned about promising legislation to protect Oklahoma tenants and expand driver's license eligibility from Sabine Brown and Gabriela Ramirez-Perez of OK Policy Institute. We will be sharing more information and mobilizing around those bills in the coming weeks.

Lastly, nearly 60 people expressed interest in learning more about our work and joining Action Teams!

Looking forward
