The intersection of mental health and public education is a core pressure for Tulsa families right now.
For the past year, ACTION's Mental Health & Education Team has had dozens of conversations with students, families, teachers, and admin to better understand factors impacting critical issues in Tulsa Public Schools.
Through those conversations, we identified a general Agenda of Issues:
Absenteeism
Mental Health
Transportation
Teacher Support
School Safety
Parent Engagement
Now is a critical time for our schools, and the stakes in upcoming school board elections are high.
Three Tulsa School Board seats are up for election, in Districts 2, 5, & 6.
At our School Board Accountability Session, we will highlight stories from the community that illustrate the real-life implications of issues on our Issue Agenda. Then, we will ask candidates to make public commitments to work with us on specific goals that can address those issues.
ACTION Accountability Sessions shift the focus from candidate platforms to constituent priorities.
The issues on our Agenda are rooted in stories of cross-cutting, common-sense issues impacting Tulsa families. We, the voters, set the agenda—not parties, pundits, or dark money campaigns.
Come see what constituent-focused civic engagement looks like, and help us build momentum toward city and state elections!
